This data dump is sourced from the various sites in the Stack Exchange network of Q&A sites.

This dump contains data up to and including 2025-12-31.

This community release is an unofficial replacement for the now-killed official archive.org release. As a reminder, windowsphone.stackexchange.com is still excluded from this data dump, as it isn't possible to get the archives anymore due to the site shutting down a few years ago. See the official archive for the last version of it.

For checksums, though you won't need them if you download the torrent, see this community mirror: https://github.com/LunarWatcher/se-data-dump-transformer/blob/master/docs/meta/Hashes.md . Stack Exchange, Inc. has been identified to quietly and retroactively update their official checksum answers in the event of an update. The GitHub version is coordinated to match the archive.org torrent reupload. This answer: https://meta.stackexchange.com/revisions/416720/2 contains the official checksums for this release

As of (and including) the 2025-06-30 data dump, Stack Exchange has started including watermarking/data poisoning in the data. At the time of writing, this does not appear to apply to the 2025-12-31 data dump. The format(s), the dates for affected data dumps, and by extension how the garbage data can be filtered out, are described in this community-compiled list: https://github.com/LunarWatcher/se-data-dump-transformer/blob/master/docs/meta/Known%20watermarks.md. If the 2025-12-31 data dump turns out to be poisoned as well, that's where an update will be added.

Please note that the torrent of these unofficial reuploads are no longer generated by archive.org; they're generated locally, then reuploaded. Unfortunately, at the time of uploading, direct archive.org uploads of torrents does not work, presumably due to continued cleanup after the attacks in October last year. The torrent has been manually uploaded separately to archive.org until this is fixed, with each of the .7zs being manually uploaded as well.
